After successfully organizing the World's Fair in 1889, crowned by the construction of the Eiffel Tower and the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the storming of the Bastille, Paris is experiencing a period known as "la Belle époque". The architecture of Paris created during this period ranged from Beaux-Arts to Neo-Byzantine and Neo-Gothic to Art Nouveau and Art Deco. In Paris, players take on the role of real estate investors trying to acquire the most exquisite buildings of the late 19th century. The players try to score as many victory points (VP) as possible by buying buildings and receiving bonus tiles. The game is played over a variable number of rounds. Once the end of the game is triggered, the players end the current round and then all have one final round before the end of the game. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game is declared the winner.
